Joe Rogan was inspired to feature Donald Trump on his podcast after the former president was shot during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, claiming “the timing was perfect” after years of turning down a conversation.
Rogan’s entry took place during Friday much awaited interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience”, in which Trump called the presidency a “very dangerous business” as the two discussed a number of topics.
The UFC commentator turned podcaster referenced Trump’s interview with comedian Theo Vaughn on his podcast in August, which followed an appearance by Trump’s fellow senator JD Vance on the same show.
The 45th President smiled and asked, “Is that why you called me to do this?”
“No,” Rogan replied. “Once they shot you I was like, ‘He’s got to come here.'”
“It’s all about timing, it’s all about timing. I think the timing is perfect.”
The conversation quickly turned to Trump’s wound when 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on firefighter Corey Comparat at the July 13 rally.
Rogan asked if Trump has a scar on his ear,
“It healed right there,” the GOP presidential nominee said, showing a wound behind his right ear.
“It went pretty well,” Rogan said.
Friday’s interview comes after Rogan snubbed multiple opportunities to include Trump on his hit program over the years.
“I have had the opportunity to include him in my show more than once, I have said ‘no’ every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him,” Rogan said Lex Friedman Podcast In 2022.
“I’m not a Trump supporter in any way,” he said.
Rogan has teased his efforts to include Vice President Kamala Harris on the popular show, but says he hasn’t set a date yet.
“Can you imagine Kamala doing this show? She should be laying on the floor,” Trump quipped.
“She should have done it and she still can, and I hope she does,” Rogan said. “I would talk to them like a human being and try to have a conversation with them.”
Rogan believed he would have a “good conversation” with Harris, not by interviewing but talking to him as a human being.
“My goal was to have her around, to inspire her to express herself,” he said.
Rogan later criticized the long-winded conversations with political candidates and the presidential debates, saying that it “imposes time limits on complex ideas.”
Instead he suggested that the nominees should sit down and talk.
“I imagine you and Kamala, sitting across a table and there’s no one in the room except the two of you, of course, you’re not going to yell at each other, hopefully, you do it that way,” he said. Explained.
The podcast has received over 5 million views within the first five hours after its release on YouTube.
Widely popular podcaster rejects Trump’s effort Support from him.
“He gave me the best support,” Trump said, referring to Elon Musk. “You should do the same, because you can’t vote for Kamala. Kamla. You are not a Kamala person. I know you.”
“I have watched you for many years. You are not a Kamala person. You’re a Khabib guy — but you’re not a Kamala guy,” Trump said, referring to retired UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.
“If she did this kind of interview with you, I hope she does because it would be a mess.”
