Justin Timberlake has reached a plea agreement in his DWI, three months after his viral Sag Harbor arrest.
Timberlake was initially charged with drunk driving, but has now agreed to plead guilty to a less serious offense.
He has paid the fine for the traffic offence of driving while impaired.
Timberlake was arrested while leaving a bar in his vehicle just after midnight on June 18. Police found that he failed to stop while driving and also failed to travel in his lane.
Police said the singer had bloodshot eyes, was glassy and had a “strong odor of alcohol” on his breath. They also claimed his speech was slurred, he was unsteady on his feet and he failed field sobriety tests.
Timberlake told police officers he had only drunk one martini, but witnesses say the pop singer was “drunk.”
His attorney at the time issued a statement denying that Timberlake was intoxicated.
“He was not intoxicated. I'll say it again: Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated,” Ed Burke said, via WABC. “And we're very confident that that charge, that criminal charge, will be dismissed.”
