“It’s been a wild ride, Jimmy,” Cuoco told Fallon about parenting her and Palfrey’s nineteen-month-old daughter, Matilda. “I mean, it’s an adventure. 19 months old. This is a lot.”
“It’s a wild thing, I was trying to explain to our couple’s therapist the other day why I was so tired,” the “Based on a True Story” actress continued, drawing laughs from the audience.
Cuoco then paused and addressed the audience directly. “You all should be in couples therapy, just FYI,” he said with a hint of warning.
Returning to her origin story, the two-time Emmy nominee recalled her couple’s therapist telling her that “taking care of a 19-month-old is like taking care of your alcoholic best friend every day.”
She explained, “They cry when they don’t get what they want. You’re making sure they get to the bathroom, or you’re cleaning up anything they spilled. And they’re out of their minds, and you’re making sure they don’t die all day long.
“And then they pass out, and you’re ready to die, and they wake up and they’re like, ‘What’s for breakfast?'” she continued.
“And you say, ‘What?’ I say, ‘Do you even know what happened last night?’
He added, “However, am I right? This is madness. And this happens every day… it is a real joy.”
On March 30, 2023, Cuoco and Pelphrey, 42, celebrated the arrival of their daughter, Matilda. A year ago, in March 2022, the pair confirmed they were an item.
A little more than three months ago, on August 15, Cuoco revealed that she and Palfrey were engaged. “The Flight Attendant” star showed off her ring in a selfie posted to her and the “Ozark” actor’s Instagram Story. “Amazing weekend,” she captioned the photo.
