Entertainment company TEG Dainty said the new shows had been added after “incredible” demand.
Tuesday morning, just before Tickets for the first two Adelaide shows go on sale At 12 noon, a queue of fans had gathered to secure seats at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
Adelaide fan, Tanya Debono, secured the last two seats on the dance floor at one of Perry’s concert dates.
He said online tickets for the first two shows announced were sold out within minutes.
Debono said, “We’ve all been waiting a long time… (we) were so excited to see her in the (AFL) grand final, she was amazing, I can’t wait to see her live.”
Tickets for the third Adelaide show will go live on October 1 at 2pm.
Malinauskas said that Perry was not paid any cash for the performance in Adelaide, but the venue fees were reduced.
Perry is also set to perform in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
The tour is in support of her new album, 143, which signals a reinvention for the pop star.
Speaking enthusiastically about the new tour at Sunrise, Perry said that fans loved her hit, the 2010 mega-hit Firework – which she said usually gets the biggest reaction from the crowd.
“Everyone loves it. It doesn’t matter who you are, how young, how mature, everyone is singing along to that song,” she said.
“I usually end my show with this. A moment to celebrate life.”
The American singer talked about how she still gets butterflies before getting on stage.
“I usually do a lot of preparation (before coming on stage). That’s why I don’t feel nervous. I definitely get butterflies. Especially in this day and age where there are little butterflies around everything. There will definitely be butterflies in the fields.”
