Kelly Rizzo is thinking about her late husband Bob Saget,
The 45-year-old opened up on the similarities between the comedian, who died in 2022 at the age of 65, and her new boyfriend, Breckin Meyer, 50.
“They’re very different, but where they share the same qualities is that they’re both absolutely,” Rizzo told The Post exclusively during the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s “Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine” event in L.A. on Tuesday. Hilarious, but in very different ways.”
Another similarity between the two is that “they are both extremely devoted fathers.”
“Bob was an incredible father to his girls and Breckin is extremely dedicated to his girls,” Rizzo said. “And he’s just a nice, honest, wonderful, strong man.”
“I’m so grateful to have Bob in my life, and now I’m so grateful to have Breckin in my life,” the travel blogger said.
Saget and Rizzo met through mutual friends in 2015 and announced their engagement in 2017. They got married the following year.
And the podcaster knows the ‘Full House’ star would have approved of her relationship with the ‘Clueless’ alum.
“They weren’t close friends but they were really friendly and liked and respected each other,” he said. “That’s why I felt good about it from the beginning.”
In February, Rizzo confirmed that she and Mayer were an item and posed for photos with her at a Grammy viewing party. At that time, he told E! news It took her a while to “get to the point” where she felt comfortable dating again.
The couple became Instagram official three months later in May.
Saget died on January 9 in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida. His autopsy revealed that his death was an accident caused by blunt trauma to the head.
“Life is too precious,” Rizzo said in the post about what she learned from the tragedy.
The Comfort Club founder added, “We really have no idea when it’s going to be taken away from us right away.” “Tell your loved ones that you love them. Hug them. Say it again and again. Say as much as you can.”
Giving insight into her grief journey, Rizzo shared: “I’ve learned over the last three years or so — which is crazy — that everyone has their own story with grief.”
“I had never experienced this before. I had never gone through a loss like this or any type of significant loss in my life and now I’m learning that when you go through it and you’re ‘in the club’ people want to share with you. “People want to share their stories and open up to you.”
In honor of Saget, Rizzo is continuing his work Scleroderma Research FoundationSharing what she thinks the fallen star wants the world to know about the autoimmune disease.
“It can really affect anyone, but it mainly affects women early in their lives,” the actress explained, “and even though she’s done a lot of work to find a cure and she’s had amazing treatments.” There’s a lot of work to do. And there is still a lot of work to be done on treatments and that is why they work so tirelessly on research to find a cure.
