Remember that epic house from “Home Alone”? You know, the one where Kevin McCallister fended off those bumbling burglars? Well, it’s up for grabs.
The famous house from the 1990 classic just hit the market for the first time in 12 years, with a price tag of $5.25 million.
Located in the posh Chicago suburb of Winnetka, Illinois, this 9,126-square-foot gem was built in 1921 and is being offered by Kathryn Moore of Coldwell Banker Realty’s Dawn McKenna Group.
Located at 671 Lincoln Ave, they shared a sneak peek of the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home on Instagram, calling it “a piece of American history.”
The outside of this Georgia-style mansion looks just like it did when little Kevin (played by Macaulay Culkin) was left behind to deal with those two inept burglars on Christmas Eve. But step inside, and it’s a whole new world of luxury.
And remember that dark, creepy attic Kevin was scared stiff of? It’s now a bright, airy suite complete with a full bath and soaking tub.
The rest of the house has been given a massive makeover too. Gone are the compartmentalized rooms and dark, wallpapered kitchen. Instead, you’ll find sprawling open spaces and a gourmet kitchen with not one, but two islands.
This home, which had a one-night Airbnb stint in 2021, features a sunroom, a huge “sport court” in the basement, a fully equipped gym, and even a state-of-the-art movie theater.
“My Favorite Holiday Movie house. Love the transformation! Impeccable,” one Instagram user gushed.
Another added, “Wow. That house was completely transformed — so much history! Looks amazing! Those movies are still part of our holiday watch list during Christmas.”
Another tagged Culkin himself, urging him to move back in.
The home has only ever been sold twice since the iconic film was released.
So if you are hoping for a slice of cinematic history, this property could be yours — just think of the holiday parties.
