The Morning Show host Larry Emdur’s terrifying encounter with massive snake

The Morning Show co-host Larry Emdur has had a weekend to remember after a terrifying encounter with a huge snake.

Emdur, 59, was alerted to the huge black python in his backyard by his wife Sylvie, he explained in an Instagram post.

He shared a close-up video of the rather scary-looking creature slithering among some rocks in the back garden.

“Sylvie: Hey Bub you know how you always says you’re not scared of snakes?” Emdur captioned the post.

“Me. Yeh.

“Sylvie: Well could you pop up to the shed and fix that ‘situation’ please?”

In a second photo, Emdur showed the makeshift protective gear he had put on to deal with said “situation”.

Hilariously, this included taped-up old cardboard boxes around his leg, torso and groin area, as well as a hard hat and a hi-vis shirt.

He clutched a huge kayak paddle in one hand and a broom in the other.

“Putting off my visit for 6 months,” one friend joked.

“And it’s not even snake season!”

“Ummm I’d like that sorted before my next visit,” said another.

“I would sign the house over to that snake and I’d run for the hills!” joked a third.

While many of Emdur’s followers were shocked that there was such a big snake in his backyard, several pointed out that it was a female diamond python and not dangerous.

“It’s beautiful and not dangerous, just a python,” one follower wrote.

“You should keep it, it will eat any rodents you might have.”

“it won’t hurt you, it’s a beautiful python,” added another.

“Let it be.”

“Such a beautiful python just looking for a warm place to snooze,” agreed a third.

Others were busy loving Emdur’s snake-proof attire, with one follower saying he looked a little bit like Bob the Builder.

“Loving the combat suit Larry lol,” wrote another.

“All the bits covered,” noted a third.

Diamond pythons are usually found along coastal south-eastern Australia and adjacent ranges.

Diamond pythons average about 2m in length, although they can get up to 3m long.

They are non-venomous, but can attack humans with fangs if provoked.

Pythons famously use constriction to incapacitate and kill their prey.

And while some of Emdur’s fans were freaked out by the look of the reptile, others thought it was a majestic looking creature.

“That’s a beauty,” one fan observed.

“Beautiful snakey. Good size too,” said another.

“I would have come out and taken it for a selfie,” a third snake-lover said.
