We have some sad news to report. Wendy’s legal guardian says she has irreversible dementia.
Less than a year after revealing her dementia and aphasia diagnosis to the public, Wendy Williams has been labeled as “permanently disabled” by her guardian in new court documents.
Her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, and her legal team wrote in court documents that Wendy “suffers from early onset dementia and, as a result, has become cognitively impaired and permanently disabled.”
The revelation comes amid an ongoing legal battle over the Lifetime series Where’s Wendy Williams, a documentary that showed the former TV host battling health and financial issues as well as alcohol addiction. Previous court documents claimed that the series exploited Wendy Williams, and said that she was not able to consent to the series due to her health issues.
The new filing asked for information about her “health, family relationships and finances” to be redacted in an effort for privacy.
Wendy Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia in 2023, publicly disclosing her health conditions earlier this year.
