Fans are seeing the heartbreaking message Liam Payne wrote online years before his tragic death at the age of 31.
“If I die, will you come to mom’s funeral…?” He XM previously wrote on Twitter, in 2010.
The tweet resurfaced a day after a private funeral was held for the late pop star on Wednesday.
Payne’s former One Direction bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles were all in attendance at the UK ceremony.
Also at the memorial service in Amersham, England, was Simon Cowell, 65, who formed One Direction on “The X Factor.”
The music mogul was photographed embracing Payne’s parents, Geoff and Karen Payne, as the grieving father wrapped his arm tightly around Cowell.

Cowell was also seen looking sad while walking hand-in-hand with his fiancée Lauren Silverman.
Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy was also photographed with Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian and Payne’s ex-wife Cheryl Cole, who is the mother of his son Bear. The seven year old child was not visible there.
Last month, Cole wrote an emotional message in the wake of the singer’s death.
She wrote via Instagram alongside an old photo of Payne, “As I try to deal with this earth-shattering event, and deal with my grief at this indescribably painful time, I I would like to remind everyone that we have lost a human being.” At that time with a newborn bear in bed.
“Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was also a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend, and father to our 7-year-old son. A son who now has to face the harsh reality of never seeing his father again,” she said, adding, “I’m begging you.”
“Before leaving comments or making videos, ask yourself if you would want your child or family to read them. Please finally give Liam some peace in what little dignity he has left after his death.”
Earlier this month, Payne’s body was brought back to Britain ahead of his funeral. The body of the former One Direction member has been kept in Argentina since his death. The release of Payne’s body was initially delayed until toxicology testing was completed.
On October 16, Payne died suddenly after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. Medical officials confirmed that Starr suffered “cranial fractures and extremely severe injuries which led to his immediate death.”
At the time, witnesses told TMZ that Payne was behaving “erratic” before his sudden demise. She reportedly broke her laptop in the hotel lobby and was rushed back to her room before collapsing.
Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Argentine police raided the homes of two Casasur Palermo hotel employees and the residence of another of their “friends” in an effort to find out who sold them the drugs.
