A life-size Taylor Swift cake resembles the Venus de Milo after her arm was dislocated in a transportation accident.
Award-winning cake artist Elza Baldzińska struggles to save her creation from a superstar singer playing the lead role in an international show.
It was being transported from Bulgarian-born Elza’s home in Windsor, England to Cake International at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham when it was damaged.
Both hands were disintegrated while cracks in the icing appeared on the shoulders and the singer’s trademark blonde hair.
A witness said: “Elza is disappointed and shocked by the damage, but she is a complete professional and will fix it.
“It’s like a race against time before the exhibition opens, but everyone is convinced that Taylor Swift will star in this year’s show, there is no doubt about it.”
It is believed that Elza spent more than 100 hours creating her Taylor Swift model, who wore the iconic blue and white sequin dress that the singer wore on The Era’s Tour.
Elza is one of 1,500 bakers, artists, chocolatiers and pastry chefs showcasing their creations at this weekend’s Cake International Show.
Other cake replicas include Queen Elizabeth I adorned with jewels by world-class sugar artist Emma Jayne.
The Tudor monarch has an elaborate period dress that matches a portrait of the former queen.
Visitors can also expect a scare from Mrs. Macabre’s Toy Emporium’s immersive Sugar Scream showpiece.
A 7-foot tall birthday cake is also displayed in the center of the show to celebrate 30 years of Cake International.
Meanwhile, expert film industry sculptor Gary Pollard will be showcasing his impressive giant Dragon Slayer model.
Eagle-eyed “Great British Bake Off” fans are in for a treat as the show’s 2023 winner Matty Edgell makes a guest appearance.
Cake International runs from Friday to Sunday.
