Linkin Park stopped producing new music in 2017 after the death of frontman Chester Bennington. While the future of the group is still uncertain, they did return earlier this year with a new compilation of their biggest hits. Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000–2023) brought them back to a number of charts, and it’s barely dwindled in popularity in the months since it arrived.
Papercuts returns Linkin Park to the top spot on one Billboard chart this week. The singles collection lifts from No. 2 to No. 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums ranking, finding its way to the summit once again.
The compilation has now spent 11 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the tally. It ranks as Linkin Park’s longest-running winner on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, and their only title to spend double-digit frames in charge of the list of the most-consumed hard rock full-lengths in the U.S.
Linkin Park takes over the throne from Hardy, whose latest full-length Quit!! debuted at No. 1 last week. This time around, that set falls outside of the top 10 entirely, slipping from the throne to No. 12 in one sizable tumble.
As it rules the Top Hard Rock Albums chart once more, Papercuts also climbs on several other related rankings in the U.S. The compilation breaks back into the top 10 on the Top Rock Albums chart, where it jumps from No. 11 to No. 9. It also gains ground on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums list, though only one space. This time around, it’s up to No. 12 on that tally.
Meanwhile, on more competitive rosters in America, Papercuts is falling. Linkin Park’s greatest hits set slips two spots on the Top Streaming Albums chart, settling at No. 32. It also declines on the Billboard 200, dipping from No. 36 to No. 42.
Papercuts is one of Linkin Park’s eight career rulers on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart. They have sent 14 titles to the tally, with more than half of them spending at least one frame in charge.
