Keke Jabbar, best known for starring in “Love & Marriage: Huntsville,” has died at age 42.
The reality star’s death was announced by blogger Marcella Speaks, who read out a statement from Jabbar’s family Tuesday.
“It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Keke. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love,” she said on behalf of the late star’s loved ones during a YouTube livestream.
“She was a mom, a sister, and a great friend full of life, love and laughter. She will be sorely missed and at this time, we are asking for respect and privacy in our moment of grief while we process this great loss. The Jabbar Family and the Scott Family.”
Marcella said that Jabbar died “peacefully at home surrounded in love.”
The cause of death has not been revealed at this time.
Following the heartbreaking announcement, Jabbar’s cousin and co-star, LaTisha Scott, asked for privacy as she navigated the news.
“At this time we are asking for RESPECT, and PRIVACY in our moment of grief, while we process this great loss! This is hard for our family!!!!!” Scott wrote on Instagram Tuesday.
Despite being related, Scott famously feuded with Jabbar during the pair’s stint on the hit reality TV show.
“Love & Marriage: Huntsville” follows the lives of three couples in Huntsville, Ala., who invest in real estate.
The OWN show has proved to be a massive success with a total of 8 seasons under its belt.
Jabbar, for her part, was last active on social media in May.
Ahead of her Memorial Day post, Jabbar posted a series of snaps from her eldest son Amaree’s high school graduation.
“My first born graduated from high school yesterday and it was such an emotional experience,” she captioned the May 23 Instagram post.
“I didn’t expect 18 years to go by this fast! We’re so proud of you Amaree. Go shine like the star you are!!!”
In addition to her time on the show, Jabbar was also a writer, editor, and professor.
She is survived by her three children, her husband, and her parents.
