Lucy Morgan asked eerie question before death in badminton accident

Just weeks before being killed in a freak badminton accident, a 6-year-old New Jersey girl approached her mother with an eerie question.

Little Lucy Morgan asked her mother, Bethany, “how to be with God and be saved” two weeks before part of a splintered badminton racquet pierced her skull on a family vacation, according to the obituary shared with The Post by her pastor father, James, Saturday.

“Bethany explained it to her, offering to pray together, but in her characteristic independence, Lucy wanted to do it herself,” her obituary said.

“She went to her room and prayed to God . . . She later journaled about it, expressing her love for God in words and pictures,” it continued.

The tragic incident occurred June 1, when a racquet Lucy’s 10-year-old brother was holding snapped during a downward swing as the family vacationed in Limerick, Maine.

A sharp piece of the handle hit the girl in the head, causing a catastrophic brain injury.

Lucy loved Chick-fil-A, drawing, dancing, soccer, attending church and spending time with her family, her obituary revealed.

“Lucy’s loving spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her,” it added. “Though her time on Earth was short, her impact has been profound as her story has circulated. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.”

After the accident, Lucy was flown by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she was rushed into a waiting operating room.

Part of her skull was removed to relieve the pressure in her brain.

After the procedure, the Morgans were told her brain functioning had essentially ceased and it was unlikely she’d ever recover

A funeral service for Lucy will be held at 11 a.m. on June 15 at Green Pond Bible Chapel in Rockaway Township.

A GoFundMe campaign established to support the family has already raised more than $100,000.
