Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” has enjoyed quite the wild ride lately. The song, which has been regarded as a pop classic for decades, returned to the spotlight after a major sync in the movie Deadpool & Wolverine, which has made the tune a hit once more. Weeks after it first began picking up steam again, the smash is still reaching new all-time peaks.
“Like a Prayer” rises to a newly-established high point on three charts in the U.K. this week. The single reached some rankings for the first time only recently, despite the fact that the tune has been available for decades, and now it’s become an even bigger win on several lists at once.
Madonna’s once-controversial hit lands highest this week in the U.K. on the Official Singles Downloads chart. “Like a Prayer” ranks as the seventh-bestselling digital download in the country at the moment. No. 7 now stands as the cut’s high point, and it rockets from No. 36, where it sat last time around.
“Like a Prayer” is a top 10 hit on another U.K.-based ranking as well. It’s up to No. 9 on the similar Official Singles Sales chart, which lists the bestselling songs in the nation of any style—or via any format. Last frame, the tune sat at No. 39.
The same cut is also a streaming success as well. “Like a Prayer” dances 20 spaces on the Official Streaming chart, pushing from No. 62 to No. 42 in one large leap. The cut has spent the least amount of time on this ranking, as it’s now only managed three turns as one of the most-streamed tracks in the U.K.
As it hits a new peak on those three tallies, “Like a Prayer” is also on the rise on the main songs chart in the U.K. All those streams and sales aid Madonna in rising from No. 95 to No. 27 on the list.
While it might be reaching new best showings on many charts in the U.K., “Like a Prayer” doesn’t manage to do so on the all-consumption songs tally. The tune hasn’t appeared as high as No. 27 for decades, but it has climbed to much loftier positions in the past. The catchy cut ranks as one of Madonna’s No. 1s in the nation, and so far, it hasn’t approached the throne again.
