Madonna has been on a bit of a winning streak lately. The pop superstar’s “Like a Prayer” has become a worldwide hit once again, following its use in the No. 1 movie Deadpool & Wolverine. The track returned to charts and even debuted on a handful last frame, and now, it’s even bigger than before.
“Like a Prayer” climbs on both of Billboard’s worldwide songs rankings. The tune reaches a new peak on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US simultaneously.
Madonna’s smash appears highest on the Billboard Global Excl. US, where it currently sits at No. 131. Over on the Billboard Global 200, the same tune lifts to No. 140.
Last week, “Like a Prayer” debuted on both of the aforementioned lists. Interestingly, it appeared higher on the Billboard Global 200 than on the list that excludes all data from the United States–which is exactly the opposite of how things have played out this time around.
“Like a Prayer” launched at No. 181 on the Billboard Global 200 last frame. It also started its time on the Billboard Global Excl. US at No. 189, just a few spaces lower than on the truly worldwide tally.
Madonna has only scored a pair of hits on both rankings throughout her career. Billboard introduced the lists in 2020, and since then, the famed pop singer hasn’t produced many smashes. She reached the two lists for the first time in 2023 as a featured artist on the song “Popular,” which also credits both Playboi Carti and The Weeknd.
