Man goes off on teens fishing on private Tenn. lake, snaps $200 rod: video

He needs to scale back his anger.

A Tennessee man had a meltdown and snapped a 15-year-old boy’s $200 fishing rod because he was fishing in a community pond, a wild viral video shows.

Two young friends were fishing when the irate man charged one of them, grabbed his fishing pole and snapped it over his knee.

“Don’t f–king touch my rod!” the friend filming the alarming encounter could be heard saying in the footage.

The resident shouted at the boys, got into their faces and made threats like, “Don’t test me,” according to the viral video. Collin Rugg/X

The video was shared on Wednesday by the popular fishing account Fishn_Shi, which is apparently run by the young fishing enthusiast whose rod was broken.

In a comment, he said it took place in the Admirals Landing neighborhood.

The three-part video has since gotten over 18 million views and angered many who bashed the big bully.

After breaking what was described in the caption as a $200 St. Croix fishing pole, the man starts yelling at the boy filming, telling him he was trespassing.

The boy tells him they are waiting for the police, saying the man threatened them.

“Leave,” the man shouts in his face, before turning and squaring up to the other boy.

“You want that phone to go in the lake, young man?” he asks.

The dispute continues as the grouchy resident threatens, “Don’t test me,” and two other adults back him up from behind some of the shrubbery.

“Get out of here … you’re fishing in a private lake,” the man says, getting progressively louder. “Get the hell out of here — now,” he hollers. He is seen wearing a “Tennessee Strong” T-shirt.

“We’re gonna prosecute you and you’re gonna pay all kinds of money because you’re being a d–k,” he then tells the kid.

A woman in the background chimes in, suggesting that the man is the president of the homeowners association. “Hey listen, he knows everyone,” she says. “He’s the president, he’s lived here for years.”

“You don’t live in here,” she charges.

The boys stay calm and state that they live in Tennessee though it is not clear where.

“Drunk Karen breaks my $200 St. Croix rod,” Fishn_Shi captioned the video. Many social media users agreed that the man seemed drunk.

“This dude has the nerve to roll up on them, swaying and slurring, sounding drunk … then has the nerve to, with his whole chest, get in that kids face and call him the d–k in that scenario,” social media influencer Michael McWhorter, known on TikTok as TizzyEnt, said in a post.

“I would put cash money on the fact that this guy … has said some variation of, ‘Oh, young people today, always with their face in their phones, playing video games. We used to have to go outside and entertain ourselves,’” the incredulous fellow fishing fan continued.

“And here’s two young people outside fishing, harming no one.”

Social media personality Collin Rugg shared the video with his 1.2 million followers.

“Male Karen of the month award goes to this guy,” he wrote.

“Way to be a tough guy with little kids,” one commenter said on Rugg’s post.

“Take away joy from kids and wonder why they start getting into trouble,” said another.
