Is he racist?
Conservative podcaster Matt Walsh donned a man bun as he went undercover to ask heavy questions for his upcoming documentary flick “Am I Racist,” which will be the Daily Wire’s first original theatrical release.
The outlet dropped a trailer for the upcoming documentary Tuesday, revealing Walsh’s journey through the world of the anti-racism movement, where he explored literature, interviewed experts, and seemingly took an earnest look into the depths of his soul.
Walsh previously starred in the 2022 documentary “What is a Woman.”
The Daily Wire is planning to release his new documentary on Sept. 13.
Before donning the man bun, Walsh was seen in the trailer getting kicked out of an event after a woman didn’t seem to think he was taking anti-racism seriously.
“If I’m going to sort this out, I need to go deeper undercover. If I want to be an ally, I need to look like one,” he explained in the trailer as he put on a wig and tied up his hair to go full hippie.
From there, he roleplayed the part of a “bumbling, zealous DEI trainee” while facetiously entertaining the possibility that the anti-racism activists might be right.
Throughout the trailer, Walsh is seen infiltrating a feast convened by the progressive supper club Race2Dinner last year to lecture their mostly white female guests about racism.
Race2Dinner organizes private sessions that reportedly cost women up to $5,000 to dine with its co-founders Regina Jackson and Saira Rao for about two hours to discuss “white supremacy, racism and xenophobia.”
“Let’s be clear, what’s happening in this country — it’s Nazism. Republicans are Nazis. You cannot separate yourself from the bad white people,” Rao was heard telling her guests in the trailer.
Typically, eight women join in on the commiseration session, which is intended to give them a dose of “exceedingly difficult conversations” about race.
Wearing a face mask and glasses, Walsh was seen serving food to women as they learned about their racist tendencies.
“The entire system has to burn. And I’m not even going to use ‘save this country.’ This country is not worth saving. This country is a piece of s—,” Rao was heard saying in the background. (It’s not immediately clear how much of that was edited.)
Suddenly, Walsh was seen dropping a plate and causing a bit of uproar at their dinner.
Near the end of the trailer, Walsh was seen interviewing Robin DiAngelo, author of “White Fragility”
“Just had to ask who are because you have to be careful,” she said with a chuckle.
“Am I Racist” marks Walsh’s second original documentary for the Daily Wire.
“I can’t think of a more appropriate film for The Daily Wire’s first original theatrical release than AM I RACIST?,” Daily Wire co-CEO Jeremy Boreing said in a statement.
“We want the film to reach every corner of America, not just The Daily Wire’s core audience or political conservatives, and I truly believe with a nationwide theatrical release this film has the power to be the final nail in the coffin of the DEI and the so-called ‘antiracism’ movements.”
