In a viral TikTok videoAn employee at a fast food franchise claims orders amounting to $50 or more must be approved by the boss, who must verify the purchase.
Big Mac Slinger, who passes by @kaalen4 On the social media app, McDonald’s did not disclose the location where they work, but said a manager would have to enter their unique code and approve the transaction.
It’s unclear if this is a universal rule at all McDonald’s locations, but commenters on the video – which has been viewed 2.2 million times – have noted that this has happened to them too.
Another Golden Arches employee insisted, “They had to shut it down at my store because customers almost always have orders over $50.”
Another admitted, “I’ll memorize all the manager’s pins because I’ll get tired of it.”
A person who reportedly works at another McDonald’s said the limit is lower at their specific store.
“It costs $25 at my store and oh my God, I can cry every time that happens,” he said.
