C Vijaykumar is the highest-paid CEO (Indian) of an IT company in FY 24 (until March), according to Economic Times. According to HCLTech’s annual report, the tech entrepreneur earned an annual remuneration of Rs 84.16 crore or $10 million.
The annual compensation components include a base salary of Rs 16.39 crore, a performance-lined bonus of Rs 9.53 crore, Rs 19.74 crore in long-term incentive (LTI) cash component, Rs 38.15 crore in LTI – perquisite value of the RSUs (restricted stock units) exercised, and benefits, perquisites and allowance worth Rs 33 lakh, according to Moneycontrol.
Following C Vijaykumar are Infosys CEO Salil Parekh and Wipro’s new CEO Srini Pallia, who drew yearly remuneration of Rs 66.25 crore and Rs 50 crore, respectively. According to the Economic Times, C Vijaykumar’s annual compensation in FY 23 was Rs 28 crore or $3.46 million. This means that C Vijaykumar’s yearly salary increased threefold between FY 23 and FY 24.
C Vijayakumar’s professional history with HCLTech & educational qualifications
C Vijayakumar joined HCLTech in 1994 as a senior technical engineer. After undertaking several different roles within the IT organisation, the businessman was made the COO of HCLTech in July 2016. In October 2016, he was appointed as CEO of HCLTech.
As for his educational qualifications, C Vijayakumar attended The Lawrence School Lovedale and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from PSG College of Technology, both in Tamil Nadu. He currently lives with his family in New Jersey, USA.
