After a few years of struggle, Kajal was cast in a lead role opposite Ram Charan in Magadheera. The SS Rajamouli directorial was the first Telugu film to enter the 100-crore club. Aggarwal has since made a name for herself as a bankable lead actress and her impressive filmography includes smash hits like Singham, Special 26, Govindudu Andarivadele, Khaidi No. 150, Nene Raju Nene Mantri, Thuppakki and Mersal, to name a few.
Kajal Aggarwal’s IIM pursuit before acting career
Kajal Aggarwal’s hard work has resulted in a successful acting career. However, early on, she wasn’t interested in becoming an actress at all. Instead, she dreamed of pursuing an MBA, preferably from one of the IIMs.
Aggarwal did her graduation in mass media with specialisation in marketing and advertising from KC College, Mumbai. She made her film debut while she was still in college. It was only after completing her graduation that she signed her first film as a lead in Lakshmi Kalyanam opposite Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. Aggarwal has shared in past interviews that she doesn’t regret her decision to quit her IIM dreams for acting.
How much does Kajal Aggarwal charge per movie?
According to Times of India and News18, Kajal charges between Rs 2.5 and 4 crore per movie. Reportedly, Aggarwal took home Rs 4 crore for her recent release Bhagavanth Kesari opposite Nandamuri Balakrishna. Kajal Aggarwal’s net worth stands at Rs 83 crore.
Kajal Aggarwal’s upcoming movies
The actress has two new releases to look forward to. One of these projects is Satyabhama which also stars Naveen Chandra, Prakash Raj, Nagineedu, Harsha Vardhan, and Ravi Varma. Directed by Suman Chikkala, Satyabhama releases on June 7, 2024, and marks Kajal’s 60th movie. According to the Times of India, Aggarwal earned between Rs 2.5-3 crore for the thriller film.
The popular Indian actress will also be seen opposite Kamal Haasan in Indian 2. The highly-awaited S Shankar directorial is the sequel to the blockbuster movie Indian (1996) and also stars Siddharth, S J Suryah and Rakul Preet Singh. Indian 2 is slated to release on July 12, 2024, and will be followed up by Indian 3, scheduled for a 2025 release.
