Aashka Goradia of Kkusum fame is the founder, Director and CMO of Renée Cosmetics, a popular makeup brand. According to the company website, Renée is “redefining beauty with its high quality, cruelty-free and FDA-approved innovative range of products. RENÉE believes in empowering women to own and enjoy their bold, ambitious persona and let their glam do the talking.”
Aashka Goradia’s last acting stint was Daayan in 2019, after which the TV actress underwent a career change to become an entrepreneur. Along with her college friends Ashutosh Valani and Priyank Shah, Aashka launched Renée Cosmetics in the same year. According to DNA India, a critical achievement that the makeup brand has achieved is the company’s valuation of USD 100 million (approximately Rs 830 crore) in just two to three years of its inception.
As Director and CMO, Aashka Goradia is involved in Renée Cosmetics’ brand building, including new product development, design, content creation and marketing strategies. Ashutosh Valani and Priyank Shah, who also co-founded Beardo like Renée Cosmetics, oversee finance, operations and distribution. According to DNA India, Priyank Shah revealed that Renée aims to close FY 2024 with a revenue of Rs 400 crore. With its company headquarters in Ahmedabad and over 250 products launched in its portfolio, Renée Cosmetics is said to have raised USD 25 million (approximately Rs 207.79 crore) in 2023. Their products include lipsticks, stick-on nails, perfumes (endorsed by Janhvi Kapoor), makeup brushes, face cream, eyeshadow palettes, and more.
