Mega Millions jackpot for Christmas Eve nears $1B

Talk about a stocking stuffer!

With no winner in Friday’s drawing, one lucky winner could take home the Mega Millions jackpot close to $1 billion on Christmas Eve.

This would be the seventh-largest prize in Mega Millions history – and the largest ever won in the month of December.

Friday’s winning numbers were 2, 20, 51, 56 and 67, as well as Mega Ball 19. Since there was no winner, the grand prize increased to $944 million. The last jackpot win was on September 10th.

A jackpot winner in Tuesday’s drawing on Christmas Eve could accept the winnings or a lump sum estimated at $429.4 million in annual annuity payments, According to lottery.

So far, this year’s biggest winner was a Florida-based Mega Millions ticket holder who won a $1.6 billion prize. Locally, a New Jersey player won a $1.13 billion jackpot on March 26.
