Fox, known for roles in Transformers and Jennifer’s Body, plays Alice in the sci-fi film. It depicts a near future where AI-powered Android bots are common, and a family decides to invest in one for their home after Nick’s wife Maggie falls ill. Like any artificial intelligence movie, things seem to be going well until Alice’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic and unstable.
Along with Fox, the film stars Michelle Morone, Madeline Zima, Matilda Firth and Andrew Whipp, while SK Dale directs. This marks a reteam for Fox and Dell, who previously worked on the 2021 thriller till deathWhich recently rejoined Netflix US.
Although not a Big draw at the box officeWe suspect the attractive artwork (including some photos designed for the male gaze) will mean it will bring in significant numbers when it arrives on Netflix on December 5. I have to imagine that even the lukewarm reviews from critics and audiences (5.2/10 on IMDb) won’t deter Netflix subscribers from checking it out.
From what we can tell, the film is only coming to Netflix in the United States, though other regional availability may vary.
