Meghan Markle’s longtime biographer Omid Scobie has made a permanent move to Los Angeles in pursuit of the “Hollywood dream,” according to a report.
Scobie’s latest business venture – a book and TV project called “Royal Spin” – has been sold to Universal TV for development into a series, Daily Mail report,
As a result, the royal guru has moved trans-Atlantic to sunny California, leaving the UK behind – just like Markle did in 2020.
“Omid already had a job as a regular talking head on ‘Good Morning America,’ but he’s ambitious and always dreamed of a Hollywood career,” a source told the outlet.
“He went to LA to take meetings. “He took a lot of meetings.”
Scobie reportedly stayed at a rental home in the Hollywood Hills while negotiations with authorities took place. Insiders told the outlet that after signing a deal, the biographer decided to make a permanent move.
Sources claim that Scobie, who first released Controversial book “Endgame” Looking to stay in LA for at least three to five years.
Although the main plot has yet to be revealed, the project will center around an American publicist who leaves her high-level role in Washington, DC to join the communications department at Buckingham Palace.
According to an insider at Universal, who reportedly handed over a seven-figure sum in exchange for the rights to the show, the series is “‘Emily in Paris’ meets ‘The Crown’.”
“Let’s just say this storyline isn’t a million miles away from Meghan’s account of what happened to her when she joined the royal family, this is just a substitute publicist for the actress,” a source told the outlet.
“You have this courageous woman who enters the castle and confronts men in gray suits who are stuck in Victorian times.”
The insider added, “The heroine is a thoroughly modern woman, a feminist, the way Meghan sees herself, yet she is thwarted at every turn by snobby royal aides.”
“She gets caught in the middle of a cultural clash and finds herself a fish out of water.”
After news of Scobie relocating to LA hit social media, the royal guru set the record straight on his upcoming project and its rumored relationship with the Duchess of Sussex.
“Just because it’s a catchy headline doesn’t make it true. So let’s be clear: the story and characters of Royal Spin have nothing to do with Meghan,” he said written on xReferring to “Suite” alum, 43.
“As a journalist, I covered the Duchess objectively, but calling her my friend (not true) or linking her to my work is very boring.”
