Missouri Republican Secretary of State candidate Valentina Gomez shared a provocative campaign video of herself running through a historically LGBTQ+ neighborhood and telling voters not to be “weak and gay.”
“In America, you can be anything you want, so don’t be weak and gay,” Gomez says while jogging in a bulletproof vest. “Stay f–king hard.”
The 24-year-old — who made headlines earlier this year after sharing a video of herself using a flamethrower to torch library books about the LGBTQ+ community — was most recently filmed running through the Soulard District, a predominantly LGBTQ+ neighborhood in St. Louis.
Lupe Fiasco’s “The Show Goes On” plays in the background as the video ends with a photo of Gomez holding a rifle.
On the post Sunday, Gomez tagged controversial British influencer Andrew Tate, who is currently behind bars in Romania on human trafficking charges.
“Don’t be weak and gay. August 6th is the day we take Missouri back from these corrupt politicians,” she wrote, later adding “MAGA.”
Gomez, a real estate investor, has posted several similarly provocative clips online, stirring up controversy ahead of the election.
In February, she went viral for torching a stack of public library books she claims are nefariously attempting to “groom” children, and said if she is elected she would ban books on LBGTQ+ topics.
“This is what I will do to grooming books when I become Secretary of State,” Gomez says in the video.
After torching the two books Gomez notes, “These books come from a Missouri Public Library.”
“When I am in office, they will burn,” she adds before the video shows a picture of her holding a large gun.
Missouri’s current Secretary of State, Republican Jay Ashcroft, is running for governor.
Gomez is running against three other candidates in a Republican primary, which will be held on Aug. 6.
