Two women were forced to confront a mobile phone shop worker after his alleged act with one of their phones.
One of the women had handed her phone in to a popular mobile phone store in New Zealand for it to be repaired and the pair had gone to pick it up on July 10.
However, when the woman looked at her phone after picking it up she realized that a lewd photo of herself had an “Airdrop failed” notification attached to it. This led them to believe the store’s worker had tried to send the naked image to himself.
Shocking footage showed the women confronting the man over his alleged actions. The manager then got involved, defending the worker and denying the women’s assertions.
The manager then went through the staff member’s phone and claimed the staff member had taken a photo to make sure the phone’s camera was working.
However, the manager did not show proof that the intimate images were not on the employee’s phone.
“My friend was notified that the Airdrop failed, with a nude picture she had sent to her boyfriend years ago that was still on the phone,” the woman’s friend said.
“Which means he scrolled all the way back through her gallery to find the picture of her, which is such an invasion of privacy.”
The staff member appears to collapse to the ground, fainting, and the women were told to go to the shopping centre’s service desk, the video obtained by Jam Press showed.
A spokesperson for New Zealand Police said: “We can confirm a complaint has been received in relation to this incident and Police are making initial inquiries as part of our investigation.”
The store has confirmed to the New Zealand Herald that the staff member has been suspended for allegedly trying to download customer’s intimate photos.
