An anti-Israel influencer is being branded an uneducated scoundrel by members of his community after mixing Greek and Israeli flags during a hateful frenzy outside a New Jersey restaurant.

“If you are going to make that kind of statement, at least know your flag. I can’t imagine someone being so uneducated that they wouldn’t know the difference. What he did…you fooled people into believing in your cause. It was clearly done for likes, that’s all.”
The Post made several attempts to contact Matthews.
Matthews, known as “Ambamelia” on social media, posted ridiculously wrong things on TikTok on October 15, which shows her yelling, “Look at that thing,” and “I don’t stand for Zionism in Montclair!” – holding a handful of torn Greek flags.
The video, titled “The time I mistakenly thought the flag was for Israel and took the restaurant flag down OMG,” has since been viewed nearly 4.5 million times on TikTok, and millions of views on X .
Disappointed residents said they were shocked by the hostile act of vandalism in their “extremely diverse city”, explaining that one can express one’s faith without destroying someone’s property.
“He is on a particular side, it is his opinion. He has the right to do so,” said a resident.
“He should not speak for the entire city of Montclair. “Tension is high everywhere.”
Another resident called Matthews “small-minded.”
“It really shows his ignorance and stupidity,” the resident said.
Throughout the video, Matthews yelled, “Liberate Palestine, bitch!” Met restaurant workers and asked them if they knew there was “a massacre taking place” and “they’re killing children” as he tore down Greek flags.
According to the footage, two staff members eventually came out of the eatery, looking confused and embarrassed by the frenzy of hatred — one gently pointing out that the white and blue flag represents Greece, not the Jewish state.
“What? Really? Oh, I thought it was Israel – my bad,” she replied.
“Oh s–t…it sounded like Israel.”
The Montclair Police Department investigated the incident in March but had no leads until Matthews posted video of the encounter from his perspective last week, police said in a news release.
He was arrested and charged with partisan intimidation and harassment.
Police Chief Todd Conforti said, “Montclair is a community that strives to treat all individuals with dignity and respect.”
“I hope this investigation sends a clear message that our agency will not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind, and that perpetrators will be held accountable for their actions.”
Matthews is scheduled to appear in Newark Superior Court on Dec. 3, police said.
