A moped-riding menace slugged two out-of-towners who confronted him for bumping into one of them on a Manhattan sidewalk – leaving one of the men in critical condition, cops and sources said.
The brute was riding in front of Rudy’s Bar and Grill on Ninth Avenue near West 44th Street around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday morning when he jostled a 56-year-old Illinois man, according to cops and sources.
The two men exchanged words before the aggressor punched the victim in the face, knocking him unconscious, cops said.
That’s when the victim’s 38-year-old friend, who is from Germany, intervened, authorities and sources said.
The attacker then lashed out at him, too, dealing a vicious knock-out blow that sent him down to the ground, causing him to hit his head on the concrete, police said.
The older man was taken to Mount Sinai West, where he was listed in stable condition.
His younger pal’s injuries were more severe – he was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The attacker fled on a black moped and hadn’t been caught by Wednesday.
Video released by the NYPD early Wednesday shows him riding the moped while wearing a white T-shirt, black sweatpants and black helmet.
