10 most expensive alcohol in the world that cost lakhs and crores

When you’re sampling the most expensive alcohol in the world, you’re bound to savour each sip. Take, for instance, the Isabella Islay, a limited-edition whisky worth Rs 51 crore, whose decanter is encrusted with 5,000 diamonds, nearly 300 rubies and about two bars of white gold. Then there’s the Tequila Ley 295 Diamante, which has two kilos of platinum and 4,100 white diamonds studded on it. Not the kind of tequila bottle you use for shots.

What makes these bottles, which are branded the most expensive alcohol in the world, stand out is their distinct aromas, tasting notes, ingredients, distilling process and exclusivity factor. These select spirits are rare, delicious and ridiculously expensive. Below, we round up the best of the lot.

Most expensive alcohol in the world: 10 exclusive spirits that are worth crores and lakhs

1. Isabella’s Islay – Rs 51 crore

The decanter of Isabella’s Islay Original Whiskey is jewel-encrusted, quite literally. It comprises more than 5,000 diamonds, nearly 300 rubies and about two bars of white gold. The limited-edition whisky has a creamy feel with smoke, wood, and berry elements. The Isabella Islay is the world’s most expensive whisky, costing $6.2 million (approximately Rs. 51 crores).

2. Billionaire Vodka – Rs 27.5 crore

Diamonds are… everyone’s best friend. The Billionaire Vodka bottle, priced at Rs 27.5 crore, is studded with 3,000 diamonds, making it one of the most expensive alcohols in the world. The spirit carries light floral tones that leave a soft texture on the palate and progressively gets spicier towards the bottom. It also has a unique distillation process, which includes ice filtration.

3. Arctic Ale by Allsopp – Rs 4.1 crore

Beer is considered to be one of the more affordable alcohol categories, but there are certain exclusive brands that have been sold for hundreds of crores in auctions. One of these is the Arctic Ale by Allsopp, which is over 140 years old and is considered the most expensive beer in the world. The beer was originally produced for Sir George Nares’ 1875 Arctic expedition, and a bottle of it sold at $503,300 (Rs 4.1 crore) in 2007, according to CNBCTV18.

4. Russo-Baltique Vodka – Rs 10 crore

This premium vodka was created by Russian car maker DARTZ MotorZ to “woo Russian royalty, tycoons, and wealthy aficionados worldwide” and was premiered at the Top Marques at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco in 2009, where Prince Albert of Monaco was the first to sample it. It even had a special feature in the popular American sitcom, House of Cards. With the bottle made in gold and silver, and featuring a diamond-encrusted cap, this limited-edition vodka costs a whopping Rs 10 crore.

5. The Emerald Isle Collection – Rs 14 crore

Costing about $2 million (over Rs. 14 crores), The Emerald Isle Collection is the oldest triple-distilled Irish whisky from Bushmills, a historic distillery dating back to 1608. The exceptional craftsmanship of this collection includes a luxury box that contains a bespoke Fabergé Celtic Egg, handcrafted from emeralds and 18k gold, along with a 22k gold timepiece and a Cohiba Siglo VI Grand Reserva cigar with a gold-plated cutter.
