The MTA’s annual yard sale purge of New York City transit inventory-turned-memorabilia is back — and this time you don’t need an appointment.
“After 2 days of fully booked appointments, we are expanding the pop-up to walk-ins,” MTA wrote in an ex-post On Friday.
The fourth annual pop-up shop took place Thursday and Friday and will reopen for walk-ins on Monday at 2429 Stillwell Ave. in Gravesend. The shop will be open from 9 am to 12 noon.
The MTA said subway enthusiasts and commuter train connoisseurs will be able to find discontinued station signs, seats, subway car builder plates, station exit globes and more at the sale.
“You can purchase fully completed items – subway signs, GrabHolds and more – in person without a processing fee,” the MTA said in a news release. Only Visa and MasterCard will be accepted for payment.
Thrifty pickers, beware as they may have to take new treasures to the nearby Bay 50 Street elevated subway station if shipping is not available.
