My Chemical Romance came to light following the death of former drummer Bob Bryer at the age of 44.
“The band asks for your patience and understanding when hearing the news of Bob’s passing,” a spokesperson for the band said in a statement. Diversity On Sunday.

Bryer was found dead inside his Tennessee home last Tuesday. He was last seen alive on 4 November. TMZ reported,
Animal control was called to the home to remove two dogs after the former musician’s badly decomposed body was found.
Authorities do not suspect foul play in Bryer’s death. The cause of his death is still unknown.
Briar was My Chemical Romance’s longest tenured drummer.
He was originally a sound technician for The Used. He joined My Chemical Romance when both bands were on tour in 2004, replacing original drummer Matt Pelissier.
The group’s members included Bryer, lead vocalist Gerard Way, lead guitarist Ray Toro, bass guitarist Mickey Way, and rhythm guitarist Frank Iero.
“I left a really good touring gig where I was tour managing and doing sound. I quit that job to join a band that was dirty, had crappy gear, was badly damaged, had a smoking, death trap van, and was poor. They smelled bad, too,” Bryer said in a 2016 interview alternative press,
“I was very happy to get this offer. Long before we recorded ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’, I knew (MCR) were special and I wanted to be involved. I wanted to help the band grow and be able to connect with them every night,” he added.
Following the release of My Chemical Romance’s sophomore album, “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge”, Bryer became the group’s permanent drummer.
He performed on several of their albums, including the 2006 platinum, concept album “The Black Parade”.
Bryer parted ways with My Chemical Romance in March 2010; Six years after taking over from Pelissier.
“This was a painful decision for all of us and not one taken lightly,” the band said at the time. “We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and hope you all do the same.”
According to TMZ, after helping other bands on tour, Bryer retired from the music industry and started working in real estate.
My Chemical Romance broke up in 2013, but they reunited in 2019 and then went on a years-long reunion tour, which had to be postponed several times due to the pandemic.
On November 12, My Chemical Romance announced their “Long Live” ten-city tour, starting in July 2025.
Bryer was not scheduled to appear on any shows.
