She said “yes” to a motherless marriage.
A BRIDE walked down the wedding aisle without her mother present because she arrived late on the wedding day.
Taking to RedditThe newlyweds reported that “the wedding day started out normally,” before things took an unexpected turn.
“By noon, when I was almost ready, my mother had to rush to a hotel 20 minutes away to change and then come back with my grandmother and a family friend,” the woman said.
The ceremony was scheduled to begin at 2pm – but the mother had not returned to the venue with her grandmother and friend.
As time passed, and the officer had to marry again, had to make a tough decision,
“The next thing I knew I was walking down the aisle with no mother, grandmother, or family friend by my side,” the bride wrote. “The ceremony continued and was over before we knew it.”
Finally, 45 minutes after the wedding ceremony ended, mother, grandmother and other guests arrived.
“I go ahead and tell them it's over and they remember it and 2 [p.m.] Meaning 2 [p.m.]” he said.
“My mom got upset right away.”
The woman concocted several excuses, including that the buns were not ready at a bakery and that her return journey was delayed because of a train.
“My personal favorite was, 'It's your fault you didn't call or text us to let us know where we were,'” the bride recalled.
“I found out why they were late,” she then revealed. “That [the mom] She couldn’t prepare herself so she was stopping everybody.”
Though the mother places the blame on her daughter, the internet certainly doesn't.
“If he could get a message, he would Send One commented, “A message. It's not the bride or groom's job to keep an eye on the family on the wedding day.”
“It was your wedding day, she's old enough to know how to tell time, and she just assumed the world would stop so she could get her hair done. She's so angry [a–hole]” another added.
