Craft showcased some innovations with their mac and cheese products in recent years, but one woman is going viral because of the disturbing experience she had with one of them.
TikToker Abby Krieger (@aceangel, posted a video It has been viewed 3.4 million times, highlighting the problem with gluten-free Kraft Mac and Cheese.
Those are the missing cheese packets.
Krieger, who revealed in the video that he has celiac disease, shared that he ordered four boxes of the product — and none of them had a packet of sauce inside.
In fact, she claimed that all four boxes were purchased at different places in different cities.
After discovering that cheese was missing from the cartons, she filled out a customer complaint form on the Kraft website and received an apology letter in the mail, as well as a voucher for a free gluten-free can.
But when she went to redeem her free box of gluten-free mac and cheese, she encountered the same problem — no sauce packet.
“So giving me a coupon to get another box of mac and cheese is not solving the problem because Kraft Mac & Cheese is not solving the problem in their production area,” Krieger said in the video. “You can’t eat gluten-free mac and cheese — even any mac and cheese — without cheese.
“I don’t know what to do,” she said further, explaining that she had filled out the form four separate times, talked to customer service and emailed them, only to receive an automated response.
“I have had celiac disease for about five years, and I rely on Kraft gluten-free mac and cheese. I probably take it five times a week,” she confessed.
Viewers posted over 12,600 comments on the video expressing sympathy for Krieger, and some shared that it had happened to them too.
One said, “Wait, I have a girlfriend too and this is happening to me too,” while another wrote, “This has happened to me too!”
“I’m also gluten-free, and the same thing happened! I was so mad,” someone else said.
“Oh my God, I’m literally going to cry. Especially considering how expensive it is. Signed a celiac girl,” one user commented.
“This is happening in Ohio and a lot because I’m allergic to wheat so I get GF and I travel back and forth so it has to be a whole batch like this,” wrote another.
Someone shared, “When I’m having a mental health issue and need comfort food I keep a box of mac and cheese with me and it’s a nightmare.”
“If we get a GF box with cheese sauce packets, is that like a golden ticket? Do we have a lifetime of stock?! One person quipped.
Finally, Kraft commented on the video, saying, “Hello. We apologize for this issue. “There are no quality issues with our gluten-free Kraft Mac and Cheese.”
Krieger replied, “Hello! Then why have I opened 4 boxes without packets of cheese?”
then he recorded a nine minute video In response to the comment, he shared all of his Kraft correspondence regarding the issue and expressed his disappointment.
“It doesn’t feel like comfort food anymore,” he shared. “It doesn’t seem safe. This makes one feel more isolated. This isn’t helping my relationship with food.”
In a follow-up video, Krieger shared that he received a call from Craft about two hours after the second video was posted.
She said an employee named Larry called her to say they had heard her concerns and that a care package would be sent to her.
“I also told Larry that I thought he needed to talk to his social media team because the comments on my videos were harassing me, isolating me, making me feel bad and it was inappropriate. There was no customer service,” she explained.
The Post has contacted Kraft for comment.
A representative said, “Our team has been in contact with Abby to apologize for her experience and make things right.” Told “today”.
“We are working closely with our response teams to ensure that all future inquiries are dealt with the care and respect they deserve.”
Meanwhile, other companies also surprised Krieger with freebies for his troubles.
California Pizza Kitchen Sent four gluten-free pizzas; Stouffer’s sent eight boxes of gluten-free sides, as well as a second delivery of cheese sauce packets; And instacart shipped Roses and gluten-free groceries.
in the video Regarding the Stouffer’s package, Krieger showed a handwritten note from the company saying it inspired them to create a gluten-free version of their Supreme Mac and Cheese.
“I’m so shocked by this,” she said, crying. “I’ve made a difference in the gluten-free community.”
