A small sized 27 year old maniac who posed as a teenager And high school student victims of sexual assault sat stunned in a Nebraska courtroom when they learned they would spend the rest of their lives behind bars for their sex crimes.
For 54 days in 2023, Zachary Scheich “mingled with other students” when he pretended to be 17-year-old “Zack Hayes” and attended classes at Southeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he committed the disgusting predatory attacks.
Scheich was sentenced Wednesday to 85 to 120 years in prison for the felony charges against him, including two counts of enticing a child by means of an electronic communication device, two counts of first-degree sexual assault/forcible touching, and attempted second-degree felony crime.
He was originally charged with nine felonies, but they were reduced as part of a plea agreement in July.
The pedophile can be paroled after serving 41 years. Judge Darla Ideus sentenced Sheich to 419 days.
“They knew they shouldn't talk to an adult male on social media. They knew they shouldn't meet an adult male alone, they knew how to protect themselves from that kind of danger,” Idius said during sentencing. Colon reports.
“They didn't know how to protect themselves from you. Because they thought you were their age. Their friend. And because you had earned their trust.”
According to the outlet, Scheich planned to enroll in high school, where she created a fake birth certificate, vaccination records and an “elaborate backstory.”
He enlisted the help of his companion, Angela Navarro, 23, and enrolled at Lincoln Northwest High School, posing as her mother. He then transferred to Southeast, where he solicited “pornographic material” from female students.
Between February and March 2023, Scheich sent sexually explicit messages to 13- and 14-year-old female students.
He also tried to get the 13-year-old girl to join him for sex, and even sent her money while encouraging her to send nude photos. KETV reported, citing the arrest affidavit.
Scheich was arrested on July 20, 2023, at a local library after police received a tip about an alleged impersonator who was contacting female students via phone or computer, posing as “Zack Hess”.
The 5-foot-4-inch tall, 120-pound behemoth, who graduated from Southeast High School in 2015, reportedly caused $6,000 in damage to Lincoln Public Schools.
The district faced questions over how a man in his mid-20s managed to enroll after his arrest last year.
School Security Chief Joe Wright said the minimum requirements to enroll in a public high school are a birth certificate, immunization records and transcripts.
During the sentencing, Deputy County Attorney Amber Scholte described Scheich as “the worst kind of predator.”
“He targeted them, groomed them and lured them into his trap via social media,” Scholte said. “He did this under the guise of being their partner, their friend and, in some cases, their boyfriend. And he did this for his own sexual purpose and gratification.”
Navarro, who operated under the pseudonym Daniel Hayes, was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation.
He denied the charge in April and was released from jail on $450 bail.
