How much content is too much content? Well, if binge-watching is as important to you as eating and sleeping, then Netflix has you covered this year. The streaming giant recently announced its India slate for 2024, which comprises a total of 8 movies and 14 web series (scripted and unscripted).
While there are returning favourites like Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, Kota Factory Season 3 and Mismatched Season 3, there is also brand new content to consume like Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Mandala Murders, Maharaj, Wild Wild Punjab and Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, amongst many others. 1. Amar Singh Chamkila
Cast: Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra
Release Date: April 12
Why We’re Excited: In Amar Singh Chamkila, Diljit Dosanjh, who is fondly known as Punjab’s rockstar, takes up the mantle of bringing to cinema the life of Amar Singh Chamika, the legendary musician. Alongside Diljit is Parineeti Chopra, who portrays Amarjot Kaur, Chamkila’s equally talented wife. Besides Chamkila and Amarjot’s original tunes being recreated by Dosanjh and Chopra, AR Rahman revealed that the movie is in a musical format, and will also feature Hindi songs while specifically delving into Chamkila’s journey. The film will also see a reunion between Rahman, Imtiaz Ali, Mohit Chauhan and Irshad Kamil after Rockstar.
