Fans were upset and unsettled by the picture given what happened days after it was posted.
“This post is genuinely haunting now,” one fan wrote.
“Sure wish bro didn’t get that bike,” wrote another. Was great on Sabrina and Gen V. He was just getting started tbh. Sucks.”
“Why did he have to get that bike?” wrote a third, adding crying emojis.
“They always leave clues on how they’ll go,” added one follower.
“It’s like foreshadowing,” another agreed.
Another fan likened the motorbike post to Friends star Matthew Perry posting a picture of himself in a hot tub, just days before he was found dead in a hot tub.
“It’s eerie as hell,” one person wrote.
“It’s like they know they’re going to go off and how.”
“The caption makes this even more haunting,” observed another.
“It’s like in this post he knew. RIP.”
His family released a statement on the weekend confirming his death.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely passing as a result of a motorcycle accident,” the statement read.
“His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest.
“We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”
Tributes have been flooding in for the British-American actor, who played Andre Anderson in Gen V and Ambrose Spellman in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Gen V co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger (son of Arnold Schwarzenegger), lead the tributes to the popular actor.
“This hurts. A lot,” he wrote.
“What a young talented actor and a great friend — gone way too soon.
“Was a pleasure to work with him in Gen V. RIP Chance.”
Co-star Dan Beirne, who plays Social Media Jeff on the show, also paid tribute, sharing a photo of Perdomo on Instagram.
“I spent probably five days with him but it was enough to know he was so funny and talented and generous and joyful,” he wrote.
“His smile lit up a room.”
The producers of Gen V released a poignant statement following the news of Perdomo’s death.
“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this,” the producers wrote.
“For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person.
“Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense.
“We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague.
“Hug your loved ones tonight.”
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa described the actor as a “soulful human being” and calling his death “heartbreaking and staggering”.
Perdomo’s other acting credits included Shakespeare & Hathaway, Midsomer Murders, The Cipher and After Everything.
Fans have flocked to his social media accounts to mourn the loss.
“Thank you for what you did while you were here,” one fan wrote.
“So heartbroken. You were absolutely brilliant in every capacity,” wrote another.
“You will always have a place in my heart, in our hearts,” added a third.
“And may the world never forget your sweetness and goofiness and kindness.
“We love you dearly.”
