It's been 30 years since the NBC sitcom aired A different world Netflix has completed its series and the series is set to hit Netflix in several countries in November this year. This news comes after the announcement that Netflix is developing a sequel series.
The show ran for six seasons and 144 episodes on NBC, between 1987 and 1993. It served as a spin-off The Cosby ShowInitially based on the lives of Denise Huxtable and others living at the fictional Hillman College in Virginia, the show was later changed to an ensemble cast for future seasons. The show featured many guest stars, including Tupac Shakur.
We're hearing that the series will be released in multiple territories on November 1, 2024, including Netflix in the United States and Netflix in the United Kingdom, among others. Of course, licensing arrangements and release dates may change, and we'll keep you posted.

As announced by major trades on August 7 (first revealed by Deadline), the development and casting process has begun on the show's sequel, with Felicia Pride ,Grey's Anatomy, Queen Sugar) Writing the project.
The brief logline of the series known so far is as follows:
“Whitley and Dwayne's daughter will be attending Hillman College, where they will be shown how their daughter navigates these difficult years with her classmates and friends.”
Gina Prince-Bythewood, Reggie Rock Bythewood, Debbie Allen, Mandy Summers and Tom Werner are serving as executive producers on the project, which is in the early stages of development.
