Bharat-NCAP Crash Test: Mahindra sets new safety benchmark as Thar ROXX, XUV 3XO, and XUV400 secure 5-star rating


India-NCAP Crash Test: Domestic automaker Mahindra & Mahindra on Thursday, November 14, announced that its three most popular models – Thar ROXX, XUV 3XO and XUV400 – achieved the coveted 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat-NCAP) Is. Of these, the Thar ROXX stands out as a pioneer, becoming India’s first body-on-frame SUV to earn a 5-star Bharat-NCAP rating. It scored an impressive 31.09/32 in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45/49 in child occupant protection (COP), the highest score ever by any internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle in India-NCAP testing. The robust design of the Thar ROXX is coupled with advanced safety technologies like six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and a Level 2 ADAS suite, ensuring that the driver and passengers are well protected in all conditions.

Mahindra’s latest C-SUV, the XUV3XO, also scored excellent results with scores of 29.36/32 in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 43/49 in child occupant protection (COP). This compact SUV offers a wide range of safety features, including six airbags, a 360-degree surround view system and advanced driver assistance systems like lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking (AEB). XUV 3XO sets new standards of safety in the compact SUV segment.

Meanwhile, Mahindra’s first electric SUV, the XUV400, has also earned recognition for its safety credentials, scoring 30.37/32 for adult safety and 43/49 for child safety. The XUV400 blends the safety of cutting-edge technologies with the strength of Mahindra’s engineering, making it one of the safest electric vehicles in India.
