Maruti Suzuki has disclosed plans to recall 11,851 units of Baleno and 4,190 units of WagonR produced between July 30, 2019, and November 1, 2019. The company has identified a defect in the Fuel Pump Motor component, which, although rare, could result in engine stalling or starting issues.
The automaker assured affected vehicle owners that they would be promptly contacted by Maruti Suzuki authorised dealer workshops for the replacement of the faulty part at no additional cost. This proactive measure aims to address safety concerns and ensure the optimal performance of the vehicles.
This recall comes amidst Maruti Suzuki’s sales performance, with a 15 per cent year-on-year increase in total wholesales reported for February. The company dispatched 1,97,471 units during the month, marking significant growth compared to the same period last year.
Furthermore, domestic passenger vehicle sales witnessed a notable 9 per cent rise, totaling 160,271 units compared to 147,467 units sold in February of the previous year. Maruti Suzuki has said that it remains committed to delivering quality vehicles while prioritising customer safety and satisfaction.
