New Nissan Magnite SUV Export: Nissan India on Tuesday, November 19 officially began exports of its recently launched SUV – the new Nissan Magnite – to South Africa. According to the official release, in line with the announcement made during the 2024 Magnite launch in October, the company is now launching its latest offering in the international markets from Nissan’s Alliance JV plant in Chennai.
The first consignment of over 2,700 units of the new Nissan Magnite has left the Chennai port within a month of its launch in India.
The Magnite, which was first introduced in December 2020, has been a key part of Nissan’s strategy to strengthen India’s position as a global export hub. The launch of the upgraded model in October 2024 underlines Nissan’s ‘Make-in-India, Make for the World’ vision and the company’s plans to expand its footprint to more than 65 international markets. South Africa has become the first country to receive the new Nissan Magnite, with shipments set to reach other international destinations including left-hand drive markets.
Speaking on the occasion, Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President, AMIEO Region, and President, Nissan India Operations, said, “Since the launch of the Nissan Magnite in 2020, we have seen a great acceptance and demand from customers in the South African market for the made-in-India SUV.
