The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has launched a thorough investigation into multiple consumer complaints filed against India’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer Ola Electric. This comes after the company responded to the CCPA show cause notice on October 21, 2024.
Ola Electric, in its reply, claimed that 99.10 percent of the complaints received by it have been resolved. However, the CCPA’s own review suggests otherwise, prompting the regulatory authority to investigate the matter in-depth.
CCPA action against Ola Electric
As per Zee Business report, the CCPA has directed the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to thoroughly investigate each complaint and verify compliance with existing rules and regulations. The increase is a major blow to Ola Electric, raising concerns about its handling of consumer complaints.
With both the CCPA and BIS involved, the investigation could have a wide-ranging impact on Ola Electric’s reputation and operations as India’s electric vehicle market leader.
