Nick Cannon knows there ain’t nobody better than Mariah Carey.
The actor, 43, revealed that he would “absolutely” rekindle a romance with his ex-wife, Carey, 55, eight years after the pair called it quits.
“Yes, absolutely. Be stupid if I wouldn’t,” Cannon responded when asked by E! News if he’d get back together with the “Obsessed” singer. “We belong together,” he quipped.
But Cannon isn’t holding out for his fantasy to come true, saying, “She don’t want me.”
Cannon’s “We Playin Spades” co-host Courtney Bee joined him for the interview, and quickly interjected, “Yeah, you done left and had like 10 kids.”
“A whole baseball team,” the comedian joked. “Like, ‘No, you can’t come back home.’”
Cannon does have ten children by five women apart from the 13-year-old twins he shares with Carey, Moroccan “Roc” Cannon and Monroe “Roe” Cannon.
Talking about the mothers of his children, Cannon said that they all get along “amazing” even though he doesn’t put that kind of expectation on them.
“But that’s the thing, I don’t expect them to,” the “Drumline” star explained. “I think that’s the thing that people might always think that it would be that. But it’s like everybody lives their own life, before me and after me.”
“So I think that’s how you keep the peace and everybody moving, like everybody worried about themselves and not worried about what someone else is,” he continued.
“As long as the kids are happy and they have the strongest understanding, I think that’s what makes sense. You gotta operate out of that.”
Turning the conversation back to his and Carey’s twins, the “Masked Singer” host said, “We gonna be done soon. We got teenagers now. I’m about to shed a tear. It’s happening too fast.”
According to the multi-hyphenate talent, Carey has no qualms about the size of his brood.
“She’s like, ‘As long as you don’t bring none of that bulls—t to the Manor of Carey,’” he revealed in a 2023 episode of REVOLT’s “The Jason Lee Show” podcast.
“She lives in her own world, nothing can infiltrate that stuff,” he added. “When we talk daily, she’s just checking on my spirit.”
Describing his ex as a “high frequency” person, Cannon also said that the Grammy-winning singer always offers him encouragement.
“She always asks me, ‘You aight? You good? How you doing? You handling it all?’” he told podcast host Lee. “She’s like, ‘Yo, let’s make sure we on the same page every day.’”
