Manushi Chhillar was the first choice to star opposite Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh. According to Indian Express, in an interview with Zoom, Manushi was asked about the rumours of being approached to play Kiara Advani’s Kabir Singh character Dr. Preeti Sikka. Manushi confirmed the rumours but added that she got to know about being considered for the role much later. Nevertheless, things couldn’t have materialised anyway as she had just won Miss World and was under contract for a year. Ultimately, the role fell into the lap of Kiara Advani, for whom Preeti remains her most loved character to date.
Furthermore, rumours were also rife about Manushi Chhillar being approached for Animal, but The Great Indian Family star denied the rumours. When asked if she would have preferred to play Rashmika Mandanna (Geetanjali) or Triptii Dimrii’s (Zoya) role, Chhillar picked Rashmika: “I loved Rashmika’s character because, in this whole world where men were fighting each other, she really stood her ground. She really confronted a man. She held him accountable. She said I don’t care about who you are, what you are doing outside, and how dangerous you might be. But you’re my husband, and I will hold you accountable. Her character had an arch. I felt that was such a good opportunity, and she did a great job. So, that’s a role I would have loved to do,” according to Hindustan Times.
Meanwhile, Manushi Chhillar’s latest release is Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial also stars Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Alaya F and Sonakshi Sinha. The sci-fi action thriller film underperformed at the box office.
