A A 64-year-old woman jumped from a third-floor window of her Queens apartment Friday night to escape her knife-wielding son, police and sources said.
The NYPD said the woman was found conscious and alert outside her apartment on Shore Boulevard near 20th Road in Astoria around 9:15 p.m.
He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and is listed in stable condition, police said.
Sources said that the woman’s son was threatening her with a knife so she jumped out of the window.
According to sources, when the police arrived, they found that the son had locked himself inside the apartment.
But police arrived at the apartment hours later and found it empty.
No arrests have been made.
Sources said that the son has already had more than 30 arrests.
