An East Village massage parlor doubling as a brothel is done turning tricks — after NYPD cops went undercover and blew the operation wide open, according to new court filings.
The Sun Shy Spa on East 6th Street could now be fined thousands of dollars for each day it operated as a clandestine sex den, city officials say in the Manhattan documents.
The city first got tipped to the illicit operation in November thanks to a 911 call reporting that “prostitution was occurring” at the spa, the papers state.
Over three days in February and March, undercover NYPD vice squad officers entered the spa, the filing says.
Each officer reported paying a roughly $60 “house fee” to enter the site, where they were then escorted to a private massage room, documents say.
The cops all recounted similar narratives once inside, according to the filing, which was aimed at shuttering the site.
During their “prostitution-related conversation,” two of the officers asked the female masseuse for sexual intercourse and received quotes of $200 and $270 respectively in February, the papers say. A third officer visited about a month later and was given a price of $200 when he asked for both oral sex and sexual intercourse, according to the filing.
All three officers reported immediately exiting the spa “without receiving massage therapy or engaging in sexual acts,” instead notifying their NYPD teams right away, the documents say.
On Aug. 5, a Manhattan Supreme Court judge ordered the spa to be at least temporarily shuttered under the city’s public-nuisance-abatement statute as the case winds through the courts.
When The Post visited the site Monday, the spa appeared closed with what looked like a pasted notice ripped from the glass storefront. A person who lives above the spa said it had been closed for roughly a month.
The super of the building said he “knew they did massages” but was clueless of any potential add-ons.
But numerous websites were not shy about the spa’s alleged illicit services.
According to the court filings, several clearly identify Sun Shy Spa as a place for special encounters.
One site called World Escorts Hub advertised a busty “new girl” at the spa, according to the filing.
“The new girl must be the one you most want to meet,” the listing reads. “A stressful and exhausting life needs a massage to release…this is the place that will make you fun [sic] and unforgettable…hot girls would love to spend a happy time with you.”
A sex act is advertised on another site festooned with pictures of nude women, court docs show, boasting that the spa contains only “HIGHLY TRAINED 1000% YOUNG GIRLS.”
“100% Playful & Open Minded,” the site boasts of the spa. “We Do More Than You Think.”
The spa’s own website advertises “young & professional Asian technicians” and shares the same number listed on the Escorts website page.
One Google reviewer wrote, “I always leave feeling relaxed.”
Another website crudely offers a specific description of a young employee, with a user in June 2023 guessing at the person’s bust size, weight and a description of the worker’s buttocks.
On a massage parlor message board, one user posted in July that so many spots in the East Village had closed, leaving Sun Shy Spa as the “only place between 14th street and Chinatown.”
Representatives for the spa could nor be reached.
