Lisa Zornberg, New York City Hall's chief counsel, is leaving her post in Eric Adams' administration — she announced late Saturday, just days after NYPD Commissioner Edward Cabán resigned as the city's top cop.
Zornberg will serve as chief counsel for the mayor and city hall through July 2023.
His abrupt departure comes as federal investigators are focusing on people close to Adams and other associates.
“I am so grateful to Mayor Adams for giving me the opportunity to serve the city, and I strongly support the work he has done and continues to do for New Yorkers,” Zornberg said in a statement, Pix11 reports.
Adams thanked Zornberg and said he plans to announce his replacement in the coming days.
“We appreciate all the work Lisa has done for our administration and more importantly for the city over the last 13 months. These are tough jobs and we don't expect anyone to be in them forever,” Hizzoner said.
