After some faint rumors and mild speculation about an Oasis reunion happening in 2024, it seems the Gallagher brothers have now all but confirmed this could be happening and as soon as this week. Both Liam and Noel Gallagher as well as the Oasis official page have posted the same clip showcasing a date for Tuesday August 27th, and a time for 8am. The timecard is in the iconic Oasis style font, and while there’s no further details in the post it’s safe to assume it’ll be a big announcement. Furthermore, a reunion announcement seems like the safest bet. Beyond the official Oasis page posting the clip, with both Liam and Noel posting the same clip there’s an implication that the Gallagher brothers and their teams are coordinating together behind the scenes.
Adding more fuel to this reunion speculation, Liam Gallagher has taken it upon himself to reply to fans on X who are commenting about the reunion on the social media platform. Liam’s post stating “I never did like that word FORMER” in reference to being a former member of Oasis, has garnered over 6.6 million views and is only furthering implying that the band is getting back together. Additionally, Liam Gallagher’s headline performance at Reading Festival last Friday, saw the singer dedicate the Oasis track “Half The World Away” to his brother Noel, and at the end of Liam’s set the same timecard that both the Gallagher brothers have now posted went up on the stage’s main screen.
Beyond this there are also reports going around that Oasis is planning a massive tour for 2025, and they’re planning to play 10 shows at Wembely Stadium and 10 shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park.
At this point if Oasis isn’t reuniting whatever their announcement is for Tuesday it’ll certainly go down as one of the biggest ‘trolls’ or upsets in rock history. Earlier this month Oasis reunion rumors started boiling after Liam Gallagher’s son Gene commented that his father was interested in a reunion. Furthermore, it was reported that at one of Liam Gallaghers shows there was a reserved seat for Noel Gallagher spotted in the venue.
Not to mention, 2024 and 2025 would be the absolute perfect years for Oasis to reunite. Definitely Maybe (1994) and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? (1995), two of the band’s most formidable and popularized records celebrate their 30 year anniversary in 2024 and 2025. If the band were to embark on a reunion tour next year there’d be no better way to celebrate Oasis than with an anniversary set for both of these iconic records. And provided Oasis has been gone since 2009, a ‘celebration’ style tour/setlist is certainly more fitting as the road to an Oasis reunion hasn’t been without it’s bumps. That is to say, if the band is in fact announcing a reunion on Tuesday.
