The Gallagher brothers have officially done what was long thought to be wishful thinking— burying the hatchet and reuniting Oasis. After putting their differences and feuds behind them, Noel and Liam Gallagher have officially announced plans to reunite Oasis in 2025, with the band announcing their reunion on social media alongside a slew of shows scheduled for 2025. “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over.Come see. It will not be televised,” Oasis states on their official website.
This reunion announcement follows the teaser both Liam and Noel and the Oasis official page posted earlier this week, which brought speculations to a boiling point that an Oasis reunion was imminent. Furthermore, this announcement teaser was initially brought by Liam Gallagher after his performance at Reading Festival last week. The singer not only dedicated the Oasis track “Half The World Away” to his brother Noel, but at the end of Liam’s set the same 27.08.24 timecard that both the Gallagher brothers posted went up on the stage’s main screen.
Additionally, reports were circulating that the band was planning shows at London’s Wembely Stadium and shows in their home tome of Manchester at Heaton Park. Both of these reports have since been confirmed, as Oasis is slated to play Wembley July 25th & 26th and August 2nd and 3rd, and Heaton Park July 11th, 12th, 19th and 20th.
Among these performances the band has announced a number shows across the UK and Europe, including dates in Ireland’s Croke Park on August 16th and 17th. All tickets for these shows are set to go on sale on Saturday August 31st at 9Am BST or 4am EST.
As far as this reunion goes, there’s no better time for Oasis to reunite than now, provided that Definitely Maybe (1994) and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? (1995), two of the band’s most renown and popularized records are celebrating their 30 year anniversary this year and in 2025.
It will be interesting to see how Oasis’s reunion stacks up against other huge reunion and rock tours from the last decade, specifically, Guns N’ Roses who grossed over 584.2 million in ticket sales with their The Not In This life…tour from 2016 to 2019. It’s safe to assume that an Oasis reunion is every bit as ambitious as Guns N’ Roses’ reunion, therefore the Gallagher brothers should expect big numbers as far tickets sales go.
However, the extent to which this reunion will last remains to be seen. So far the band has only revealed # shows for next year, with a world tour not yet confirmed. Assuming everything goes smoothly with this first round of Oasis reunion shows, it’s more than likely the band will add more dates in the future. It’s even possible a new Oasis album could already be in works following this reunion announcement. All of this remains to be seen, but at the very least fans have now gotten what they’ve been dreaming of for nearly 15 years, a proper Oasis reunion.
