One dead, 10 hospitalized from E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald’s quarter pounder


Ten people have been hospitalized and an elderly man has died in Colorado after E. coli infections linked to McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburgers. Center for Disease Control said On Tuesday.

McDonald’s shares were down 9.2% after the bell.

McDonald’s has proactively removed the chopped onions and beef patties used for the Quarter Pounder hamburger from stores in the affected states while the investigation continues, the company informed the CDC.

According to the CDC statement, Quarter Pounder may be temporarily unavailable in some states.

McDonald’s did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
