At least two people were killed in a mass shooting Friday morning in Orlando, which was hosting a Halloween celebration.

Police received a report of shots fired at Central Boulevard and Orange Avenue around 1:07 a.m. Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith said during a news conference.
A second shooting was reported a few minutes later at Washington Street and Orange Avenue to the south.
Six others were injured and were taken to local hospitals in stable condition. The age of the victims is between 19 and 31 years.
Police closed in on the attacker, identified as 17-year-old Jaylen Dwayne Edgar, after he opened fire a second time into the crowd, immobilizing him and arresting him.
Edgar was previously arrested for grand theft in 2023.
Police did not see Edgar enter any clubs and believed him to be the only suspect. He was armed with a handgun.
